dessert inspired biscuits - a culinary mash-up!

The much-loved Australian biscuit brand, Arnott’s were looking for innovative ways to bring excitement to their core sweet biscuit portfolio through the introduction of a new flavour series inspired by iconic desserts.

The Edison Agency were engaged by the Arnott’s team to create a disruptive and playful packaging solution that captured the cheeky spirit of this culinary mash-up and brought something new to their classic favourites – Shortbread Creams, Iced VoVos and Scotch Fingers like never before!  The brief was to create a design that didn’t look anything like the current range – injecting indulgent dessert cues that celebrated the indulgent flavour and attitude of these new creations.  This flavour series needed to ‘rock-the-boat’ at aisle creating cut-through that grabbed shoppers attention with colour and textural depth.  The solution was to ignore the design style of the current range and generate revived engagement with each biscuit transforming the classic into something irresistibly new.

This range is baking genius – a surprising and fun renovation that will no doubt introduce new audiences to the Classic Assorted Tray bikkies.  The retro inspired graphic illustrations help capture the playfulness of the biscuits with a vibrant colour system that makes it hard to ignore on shelf.

The range has three new recipes - the Lamington Iced VoVo adds a layer of pillowy chocolate fondant to the Iced VoVo’s existing jam, coconut and biscuit base. A new mud cake-inspired Shortbread Cream and a Salted Caramel Tart Scotch Finger that pairs the beloved buttery fingers with sea salt and caramel pieces.
