Brown Family Wine Group

A celebration of true wine craftsmenship

For the Brown Brothers family, Australian wine is a beautiful tradition. For generations, the winery has quietly shaped the course of Australian wine, translating research, experimentation and technical mastery into wines that consistently push the category forward. From vineyard practices to winemaking technology to the cellar door experience, Brown Brothers has long set the pace. They lead, others follow.

The Brown Brothers Winemaker’s Series is the purest expression of that spirit. Born fromThe Kindergarten, the micro-winery at the heart of the iconic Milawa estate, the range celebrates curiosity in its most refined form. Small-batch alternative varietals, distinctive blends and exceptional single-vineyard expressions come together as a tribute to experimentation, guided by experience and executed with confidence.

The challenge was to balance this experimental edge with unmistakable sophistication. Each wine needed to feel hand-crafted and limited, while clearly recognising the mastery behind it. At the same time, a complex set of winemaking processes had to be distilled into a system that felt intuitive, legible and considered, avoiding a stiff academic outcome.

The strategy centred on elevating the winemaker’s handprint as the hero. The design language celebrates process as provenance, using restraint and detail to signal craft without overstatement. Beautifully finished print embellishments, a bespoke die-cut label and a bold minimalist aesthetic create a sense of quiet confidence, while refined iconography translates intricate winemaking techniques into an accessible visual shorthand. Hand-drawn batch numbers reinforce the limited-release nature of the series, returning credit to the master craftspeople behind each wine.

The result is a range that feels experimental yet assured; a modern expression of Brown Brothers’ enduring role as Australia’s most quietly progressive winemaker.
