DRC Advocacy (Disability Resources Centre) has been part of Victoria’s disability rights movement since 1981. The organisation has campaigned for systemic change, delivered individual support and championed disability pride for more than four decades. As its work expanded, its name and identity no longer reflected the breadth or impact of its programs.
Edison partnered with the organisation to create a new strategic direction built around a unifying idea: Interwoven, a fabric of voices. Each thread representing a person, a story, a need and an experience. Alone, a thread is vulnerable. But when woven together they form something stronger, clearer and that will not be ignored. The organisation’s acronym was preserved but redefined as Disability Rights and Culture, honouring the history while presenting a clearer direction that better captures the goals of DRC today.
The visual identity incorporates diverse colour, symbolic storytelling and accessibility first design to ensure the brand is welcoming, supportive and reflective of a community that evolves and advocates together.
