Women in Science Parkville Precinct (WiSPP) was established to drive culture change in the medical research field, fostering diverse voices in science and empowering them to lead. Since its inception in 2014, WiSPP had outgrown its visual identity and recognised the need for a refreshed positioning that truly reflected its commitment to diversity and inclusion. As aligned partners in purpose and values, The Edison Agency was engaged as WiSPP’s strategic identity and design partner, taking on the relaunch as a pro-bono project through our Design for Good initiative.
With the name retained, the rebrand set out to redefine WiSPP’s positioning and narrative, reinforcing credibility and strengthening its visual identity. The refreshed design system symbolises positive change, growth, and empowerment in the medical research field. The new S device serves as the hero element, representing the diversity at the heart of the organisation’s values. A bold yet warm visual language brings together spirited illustration, inclusive typography, and a modern colour palette that highlights both credibility and approachability.
By fusing strong messaging with a bespoke illustrated system, the new identity celebrates human connection, empathy, and collaboration. WiSPP’s evolved brand ensures that its presence is as bold and impactful as the change it champions in science.
