Designing for the next generation of winemakers

The Edison Agency were invited to develop a new identity strategy and design system for the Brown Brothers parent company that embraced the growth and diversity of the growing family business. What resulted is a visual language system that is classically beautiful and bold — a quiet nod to the past and a big leap forward into the future.

For over 130 years Brown Brothers had established themselves as leading wine makers and are one of the select few businesses who make up the Australia’s First Family of Wines group. They had built a reputation in creating new wine varieties and taking an innovative approach to wine making — their success has seen them evolve from a single brand to a family of brands including Brown Brothers, Tamar Ridge, Innocent Bystander, Pirie and Devil’s Corner.

Newly named the Brown Family Wine Group, The Edison Agency worked closely with Caroline Brown, a fourth generation family member, in developing the naming strategy, brandmark design and visual language system that captures the warmth, humility and progressive spirit of the business.
